Beverly League Obituary

Beverly Moss League

Greenville

Beverly Moss League, wife of Gerald R. League, was carried home by the angels to meet her Heavenly Father Monday, August 28, 2017.

Beverly was a member of Enoree Baptist Church, Travelers Rest, SC and a lifelong resident of Greenville County, SC. She was the fifth of seven daughters born to Amos Baxter Moss and Nina Lee Page Moss.

A visitation will be held Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. The funeral service to celebrate Beverly's life will immediately follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Interment will follow in Graceland Cemetery, West.

She is survived by two daughters, Gina League of Greenville, SC and Vanesia Chowaniec and husband Jack of Fort Mill, SC; one son, Chris League and wife Tammy of Six Mile, SC; four grandchildren, Coty Thebo, Christiana Ebhardt, Jamie League, and CJ League; great grandchildren, Charlie Budd, Scarlett Budd, and AJ Pratapas; sisters, Betty M. Parsons and Barbara M. Dean of Greenville County, SC and Linda M. Martin and husband Skeeter of Laurens County, SC.

She was predeceased by her, parents, and three sisters, Shelba M. Grillmeier, Carolyn M. Elrod, and Vivian M. Turner

Beverly was a proud graduate of Parker High School, class of '57. She married her high school sweetheart the same year.

Beverly's accomplishments were many, notably, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, dedicated to God and family. She had been active in church, teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School classes in the youth department and held numerous other positions of responsibility.

Beverly was employed outside the home after her children were all in school. However, at no time in her career did she ever let her job responsibilities take priority over her children's needs.

After the children had moved away from home Beverly and Gerald opened Country Charm Antiques, a quaint little shop located just North of Travelers Rest, SC.

Beverly was notably an outstanding first class cook. She also created numerous intricate, complex cross-stitch and embroidery pieces. Her incredible skills at sewing, craft making, and home decorating were truly admirable.

Mrs. League, additionally, was an avid genealogist and compiled much historical information on her ancestors, The Moss and Page families.

Her determination to succeed at anything she embarked on was a significant lifelong attribute.

Beverly and Gerald were married 59 years. Beverly will be sorely missed by her entire family for the smiling, cheerful, caring spirit she exemplified throughout her entire life and she will continue to live in our hearts forever.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 1990 Augusta St., Greenville, SC 29605.

I have heard stories all my life about Beverly "Red" and Gerald. My dad thought they were some of the finest friends from his young adulthood. Sorry to hear of her passing. Will be praying for your family and asking God to comfort and strengthen you all in this time of sorrow. Ted Hayes' daughter Jo Ann
