Nadean Hollman Hirth, 99, of Stamford, CT, passed away Monday October 28, 2012. She was born in East St. Louis, IL, daughter of Carrie Hottes and Edward A. Hollman, wife of Elmer F. Hirth who preceded her in death in 1978 Nadean and Elner lived in Clayton, MO. She was a graduate of MacMurray College, Jacksonville, IL, and taught in Ladue and Clayton, MO, school systems. Mrs Hirth volunteered in the washington U. Host Family and speak English program and was an oasis Intergenerational Tutor. She was an active member of the First Congretional Church of Clayton for 58 years, The Wednesday Club of St. Louis, and P.E.O chapter GE. In 2003, Nadean moved to Edgehill, a life-care Community in Stamford, CT, joined the First Congregational Church of Old Greenwich, and P.E.O Chapter I of Greenwich. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy H. Moses of Marshall, MI and her brother Edward P. Hollman, Belleville, IL. Surviving her are children Carolyn Hirth MacLea, Old Greenwich, CT; Marcia Hirth Murphy, Lyme, CT; Carl Edward Hirth, Brattleboro, VT; grandchildren N. Gregory Pippert, Fairfield, CT; V. Caroline Pippert Thompson, Stamford, CT, Nathan Woodberry Hirth, Brattleboro, VT, Kristin Woodberry Hirth. Cambridge, MA; great-grandchildren Emma and Charles Pippert, Fairfield, CT. A celebration of life will be held at the First Congregational Church Old Greenwich, CT. at a later date.

My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of Carolyn's mother. It was a joy to see her in church, even very recently. So good that she could still worship with us. May your family feel God's comfort through this time.
