Ann Teal Bradley, 89, wife of the late Charles Worcester Bradley of New Canaan, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at home in New Canaan while surrounded by family. Born June 29, 1923, in Chicago, IL she was the daughter of the late John J. and Isabelle O'Sullivan Teal. After her family moved to the Belle Haven neighborhood of Greenwich, CT in her childhood, Mrs. Bradley graduated from the Greenwich Academy and Smith College. As a model in college her photograph was selected for the cover of LIFE Magazine entitled "College Girl in Pigtails" for the September 8, 1941 issue. Upon graduation from Smith College she served in the US Navy during World War II. She held the rank of Ensign and served as a communications decoder in Naval Operations at the War Department in Washington, DC. She was married to Charles W. Bradley in November 1945 and moved to New Canaan in 1951. She was an avid artist, oil painter and served on the Board of Directors of the Silvermine Guild of Artists. A person of great faith, she was known for her zest for life, gracious entertaining, and love for friends and family. She is survived by daughters Ann B. Sigurdsson and her husband Stefan of New Canaan, Abigail B. Ledbetter and her husband Scott of Sea Island, GA,(formerly of Greenwich) and sons Charles W. Bradley, Jr. and his wife Mercedes of Coconut Grove, FL and John A. Bradley and his wife Patricia of New Canaan. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren as well as her sister Mary Teal Garland of Hancock, NH and 4 nephews and 5 nieces. In addition to her husband Charles to whom she was married for 56 years until his passing in 2002, she was predeceased by her brother John J. Teal. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Fr. Ian Jeremiah and concelebrated by Msgr. William Scheyd and Msgr. Peter Cullen on Saturday, February 23rd at St. Aloysius Church followed by internment in the Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich, CT with full military honors.
