Carolyn Sue "Cindy Bloom, born August 29, 1953, of St. Petersburg, FL, formally of Greenwich CT, was called home to her maker Saturday April 13, 2013 after an extensive battle with Ovarian Cancer. She was born in Greenwich to Robert R. Bloom and Charlotte Ann Bloom who both predeceased her. Due to her extraordinary strength and courage she more than doubled her life expectancy prognosis. Ever the free spirit, she went through life as an adventurer. As a very young woman she thought nothing of hitch hiking solo from CT to New Orleans to attend Mardi Gras following up with an extensive solo trip throughout Europe and much of the U.S. Given her natural beauty, next on her itinerary was a career as a model for the famed fashion designer Oleg Cassini of NY. Afterward, to excess her intellectual side, she attended Emerson College in Boston, majoring in business communications, graduating with a degree in high standing. Cindy lived her life in keeping with her own high standards of morality, values and fair play. Failure to take a stand for her beliefs was not an option, particularly in the realm of ethical and humane treatment of animals. Her infectious smile, quick wit and uncompromising honesty earned her respect and friendship of people where ever her travels took her. Those wishing to honor her memory may do so with a contribution to Adopt a Dog, 23 Cox Avenue, Armonk, NY 10504 or an animal rescue society of your choice. Cindy leaves behind a sister Maryann Bloom of St. Petersburg, FL, a brother Robert Bloom of Cos Cob, CT, a nephew Marc Dodd of Clairmont, FL and far from least her little dog Sammy. Her wish was that there would be no formal service. Abbey Affordable Cremation, Largo, FL , 727-517-2340.
