Fred Pellicano, 85, entered into peaceful rest in Ocala, FL, surrounded by his loving family by his side on Dec. 7, 2012. Fred, formerly of Riverside, CT was born on July 18, 1927 to the late Demetrio and Serafina (Ambrogio) Pellicano and was predeceased by his brother Joseph. He attended Greenwich schools, and went on to serve in the Armed Services during WWII
from 1945-1947. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 50 years. Fred retired from Pitney Bowes prior to moving from Riverside to sunny Ocala. While living in Ocala, he devoted much of his time volunteering and working on community events. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years Pia (Urso) Pellicano; loving father to Diane (Tom) Balogh; Nancy Pellicano (Joseph) Lopes; Lisa (John) Niemiec; Karen Pellicano (Adam) Brill and Steven (Karen) Pellicano. Caring grandfather to Amy, Jason, Justin, Gina, Heather, Michael, Raymond, Jessica, Rachel, Roger and Pia. Great-grandfather to MacKenzie, Liana, and Callie. A prayer service will take place on Thursday Dec. 13, 2012 from 10:30 am to Noon at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich, CT 06830. Burial will take place immediately after at St. Mary's Cemetery, North St., Greenwich, CT.
