Gillian Margaret Stewart McCreath, 69, peacefully passed away with family by her side on Monday October 1st, 2012, at her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Gillian was born in Glasgow, Scotland on November 22, 1942, graduated from the University of Glasgow, and had a Masters in Psychology. She came to the US in the late sixties, possibly to follow the Beatles, but that is unconfirmed. After having two boys, the family moved from New York City to Greenwich, CT, where they spent the majority of their lives. She strived to be a good Christian and lived her life with passion and love and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Her favorite passage was Isaiah 40, verses 29-31: "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
Gillian is survived by Euan McCreath of Charlotte, Gillie and Deena McCreath of Tampa, and her granddaughters, Carys and Arden. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 4, at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte.
