Helen W. Roman, 94, of Riverside passed away peacefully on December 6, 2012 with her daughter at her side. Born February 5, 1918 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Stella Osinska Wojciechowski. Helen was a registered nurse who served as a First Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II in the European Theater of Operations in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. During the Polio Epidemic of 1949, she served as a Red Cross disaster nurse in the Midwest. Helen also worked as an industrial nurse for Pitney Bowes and Connecticut Light & Power. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth(Betsy) Henry and her husband Jonathan of Stamford; a son, Paul of Massachusetts; and a granddaughter Lisa Henry Prindle and her husband Robert of Stamford. Helen was predeceased by her husband Andrew in 2002; her brother Edward Wojciechowski; and her sister Clare LeRoy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on December 15th, 2012 at 11:00AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside. Internment will be private.
