Howard E. Frankel, 75, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formally of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully Thursday February 20, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Howard was born January 30, 1939 in Norwalk to the late Seymour and Edna White Frankel.
Howard along with Suzanne, his wife of 50 years, was the owner and operator of Bon Ton Fish Market in Greenwich, CT for over 30 years, before retiring to Palm Beach Gardens, FL, where he continued to enjoy fishing, until discovering the game of golf and then you could be sure to find Howard golfing at PGA National in Palm Beach, his favorite place.
Howard is survived by his wife Suzanne LeBeau Frankel, his son and daughter in law David C. Frankel and Catherine B. Frankel of New York, NY, and his daughter Diane Gremalis of Milford, CT, his grandchildren Olivia Frankel, Charlie Frankel, John Paul Gremalis and Heather Gremalis, as well as his sisters Ann Baena of West Palm Beach, FL, Hannah Stein of California, Sandra Glynn of Darien, CT, Margot Webb of Norwalk, CT, and Linda Waetjen of San Antonio,TX.
Besides his parents, Howard is predeceased by his son Dr. Alan T. Frankel and his brother Frederick Frankel.
Family and friends may call at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT on Friday February 28, 2014 from 10:00 to 11:00AM, with a service to be held at 11:00AM with Rabbi Edward Schecter officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Memorial Park, Oaklawn Avenue, Stamford.
