Karen Ferber Webster, 68, resident of Bethel for 45 years, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Danbury Hospital with her family at her side. She was born in Greenwich, CT on October 24, 1943 to the late Odette (Hill) and William A. Ferber. Mrs. Webster graduated from St. Mary's in Greenwich, CT in 1961 and went on to cosmetology school, where she completed the program in 1962. She worked as a hair stylist in Greenwich from 1962 to 1967 and married William E. Webster in 1964. A few years after their marriage they decided to settle in Bethel to begin their life together and to raise their children. Once in Bethel, Karen worked in retail at The Candy Cane candy store and at Countdown children's clothing store. She also volunteered for the Bethel Republican town committee and was a parishioner of St. Mary R.C. Church. Above all else, Karen adored children and was happiest spending time with her family and close friends. She is survived by her devoted husband wife of 47 years, William E. Webster, her son, William E. Webster, Jr., also of Bethel, her daughter, Sharon Mareno, and her husband Frank, of Danbury, and her grandson, Frank Daniel Mareno. She is also survived by her brother, E. Brian Ferber, and his wife Allison, of Glendale, AZ, and her sister, Lyn Capone, of Southbury, CT. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Webster was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Carnes, a nephew, Michael Capone, and a niece, Debbie Capone Quinn. The family welcomes all friends and relatives on the evening of Wednesday, October 3rd from 5 to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am at St. Mary R.C. Church, 26 Dodgeingtown Road, in Bethel, CT. Interment will immediately follow mass at Saint Mary R.C. Cemetery, in Bethel. The family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation.
