Robert P. Belanger, 46, of Danbury, husband of Mia Belanger and father of Brooke L. Belanger died on Thursday, February 21, 2013 after being stricken ill.
Mr. Belanger was born in Port Chester, NY, July 28, 1966, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Belanger. He was raised and educated in Greenwich and graduated from St. Mary Catholic High School. Upon graduation, Mr. Belanger established and operated the Atlantic Tile and Marble Company and recently, became a mechanical engineer with the Mulvaney Company. An area resident for the past twelve years coming from Greenwich, he enjoyed motorcycling, fishing, cooking, golf and football. He was a NY Jets fan. Mr. Belanger was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish of Ridgefield. In addition to his wife, Mia of fifteen years, daughter, Brooke and parents, Robert is survived by three brothers, Leo (Sonia) Belanger of Greenwich, Richard Belanger of Easton and Michael (Stacy) Belanger of Easton; four sisters, Laura (Anthony) Persampieri of Danbury, Beatrice L. Conner of Henderson, NV, Minerva (Jeffrey) Serro of Waterbury and Jane F. Belanger of Easton. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11 AM in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Rd., Ridgefield with the Rev. Joseph A. Prince officiating. Interment will be private and at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends in the Kane Funeral Home, 25 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4 PM to 8 PM.
