Rosemarie Stuttig

Stuttig, Rosemarie "Dolly".
February 20th, 1928 - July 14th, 2013, Rosemarie (Dolly) Stuttig, nee Carlo, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 14th, 2013 surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
The daughter of Peter and Concetta Carlo, she was raised in Greenwich, CT. She attended the Traphager School of Design and went on to a life defined by boundless energy and a zest for life. Dolly had a warm personality and had the ability to communicate with people from all walks of life; she was a forward thinker and dynamic woman.
She met a wonderful man, Charles Stuttig (died in 2001) whom she married in 1956. Together they shared many wonderful adventures.
Dolly was an entrepreneur from an early age who sold violets to the commuters at the Greenwich train station and later in life along with her husband opened the Harbor House of Cos Cob and then the Harbor House Inn of Old Greenwich. At both Inns, Dolly would greet each guest with a warm smile making everyone feel welcome and comfortable, a trait that naturally came to her. Dolly worked at the Inns until she retired at the age of 80.
Her son Charles of Greenwich, daughter Dawn along with her children Bradley and Stephanie of Old Greenwich, survives her.
Dolly will be missed by those who knew and loved her. A memorial service was held in her honor on July 17th at St. Mary's Church in Greenwich. To leave an online condolence, please visit
