Colasurdo, Garry P.
Garry Paul Colasurdo, age 49, passed suddenly of a heart ailment on October 30, 2013. He was the beloved son of Janet Fontanarosa Casale and Robert Colasurdo. He was born in New Rochelle, NY, on May 31, 1964. In 1970, his family moved to Greenwich, CT, where he grew up and attended Greenwich schools. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1982. Upon graduation, he enrolled at George Washington University and earned Bachelor's Degree in Logistics in 1987. His patriotism and love of his country inspired him to join the United States Army in 1988. He served honorably and with distinction. After his Army service, he became a partner, along with his brothers, in The Fitness Edge chain of health clubs in Fairfield County. In 1997, he was drawn to the warmer climes of South Florida and moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where he co-owned several Dunkin' Donut franchises with longtime friend Bob Braverman. After selling the franchises, he moved to Juno Beach, Florida in 2009, where he worked with his brother, Robbie, in a family business. Garry loved and was devoted to his country, the military, his family and friends and anything electronic. He was the "go-to" guy if any of his family and friends needed help. He defined kindness, compassion, and a generous heart. He is survived by his loving mother Janet Fontanarosa Casale, his father, Robert Colasurdo, two brothers Robbie Colasurdo and Doug Colasurdo, and his sister, Chrissy Colasurdo. Garry was devoted and generous to his four nephews, Charlie Colasurdo, Kieran Colasurdo, Nicholas Colasurdo and Jack Colasurdo. Services are scheduled at Taylor and Modeen, 250 Center Street in Jupiter, Florida on Friday November 1st between the hours of 5pm and 8pm. A requiem mass will be held at the St. Patrick Catholic Church on Prosperity Farms Road in Palm Beach Gardens at 10am on Saturday November 2, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations, in Garry's name, may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project. A memorial in Connecticut will be announced.
