Nastro, Antoinette
Antoinette M. (Toni) Nastro died peacefully on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Antoinette was born February 28, 1928, in Mount Vernon, New York to Frank DeFilippis and Mary Liotino DeFilippis. Toni, as she was known to her friends, graduated from New York University in 1968 and earned a Masters of Arts from Columbia University in 1972. Toni owned and managed Cimarron East, an artistic boutique, in the 70's. Her career also included working Dr. Smith a well-known plastic surgeon, the Pittston Corporation and North Star Reassurance. Toni enjoyed all of the arts, oil painting, Chinese painting, pottery as well as working with fabrics. She had her own art studio which she spent countless hours creating. She loved working on art projects with all of her children and grandchildren. She found her niche in quilting. Antoinette is survived by her five children: Frank Nastro and his wife Joanne, Christine Gilliatt, Sally Hotaling, Robert Nastro and Jeanne Nastro; grandchildren: Cory, Kimberly & Francesca Nastro, Victoria Belluscio and her husband Danny, Elizabeth and fiancée Sean Vail, Catherine & Leah Hotaling, Bobbie & Ryan Nastro, Stephan & Maximilien Salvadori; great grandchildren: Sean Nastro, Emma & Jack Belluscio; brother Joseph DeFilippis and his wife Lynne; cousins William & Catherine Duggan as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including many close friends especially: Audrey Vitulli and Hilda Torelli. Brothers Nicholas, Anthony & Peter predeceased her. Friends may call Sunday, November 18th , 1- 5 pm, at Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT. Church service will be held Monday, November 19th at 10:00am at St. Mary's Parish, 178 Greenwich Avenue, Greenwich, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Toni's favorite places: Museum of Modern Art, NYC, or Greenwich Library, Greenwich, CT.
