James S. Harrington Aug. 13, 1936 - Oct. 3, 2012 Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, resident James (Jim) Harrington, 76, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia, daughter Bridget, son Jay, and granddaughter Madison, as well as a wide network of extended family, friends and former colleagues. Mr. Harrington was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, on Aug. 13, 1936. He grew up in Greenwich with his mother, four sisters and brother. He was an outstanding athlete, and served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Following his service, he attended the University of Hartford where he excelled at baseball and basketball. He was an initial inductee into the University of Hartford Athletic Hall of Fame, and to this day the basketball team's most valuable player award is named the "Jim Harrington Award." Mr. Harrington began his career as a teacher, and became a Special Agent with the FBI. He was transferred early in his career with the FBI to Michigan and he finished his career at the FBI's Detroit headquarters. A memorial service will be held at Saint Mary Parish in Greenwich on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
