Richmond, James
James Fletcher Richmond passed away on Friday, November 16th, in his home in Dallas, Texas at age 40. Jamie was born on October 5, 1972 and lived in Riverside, Connecticut until his graduation from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia in 1995.
Jamie attended Mrs. Shockley's Nursery School in Old Greenwich, Riverside Grade School, Eastern Junior High School and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1991. Jamie grew up at the Rocky Point Club in Old Greenwich where he developed a lifelong love of diving, swimming and sailing. Jamie was a member of the Greenwich High School Swim Team, participating as a Four- year Letterman for his diving and is still posted in the list of top 20 divers in GHS history. Jamie moved to Salt Lake City, Utah following college and lived there until the spring of 2011 when he moved to Dallas. Jamie is the beloved son of Barrie Van Buren Richmond of Riverside, Connecticut, and Howard Richmond of Tucson, Arizona, oldest brother of Alden Richmond of Denver, Colorado and Tim Richmond of Houston, Texas, grandson of Barbara and the late Henry Van Buren of Connecticut, and the late Howard and Betty Richmond, also of Riverside, Connecticut. Jamie is the nephew of the late Jay Van Buren of Boise, Idaho, Rosemary O'Hayer of Wilmington, North Carolina and Carolyn Richmond de Ayala of Madrid, Spain.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 108 Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich, Connecticut on Saturday December 22nd at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational Church Outreach Program.
