LaBella, Richard D.
Richard Donald LaBella, of Naples, FL, formerly of Stamford and Norwalk, CT, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the age of 80. Born October 17, 1933 to Daniel and Bergliot LaBella. He attended Stamford High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and received an honorable discharge in 1955. He was the owner of Cos Cob Barber Shop and CCB Haircutters in Greenwich, CT for approximately 40 years before retiring to Naples. Richard was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He enjoyed playing golf with his brother, Bob; his son-in-laws, Marc and John and his good friends in Greenwich and Beachwalk. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Edward LaBella of Stamford. Richard is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Toni) LaBella. He is also survived by his brother, Robert LaBella of Massachusetts and Frank LaBella of Florida; his seven children, Richard LaBella (Josephine), Ronald LaBella (Toni Ann), Robert LaBella (Marianna), Patti Price (Steven), Roger LaBella, Tracy DeBeradinis (Marc) and Jennifer Montoni (John); and 13 grandchildren, Theresa, Natalie, Victoria, Olivia, Jessica, Rachel, Roger, Mathew, Cole, Max, Teddy, John-Carter and Nico. Richard loved animals and leaves behind his loyal dog, Lilly and his 19 year old Persian cat, Cody. He will be lovingly remembered for his kindness, generosity, and wonderful sense of humor. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, One Father Conlon Place, Norwalk, CT 06850. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory can be made to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105.
