Rita Ianello Obituary

MRS. RITA A. IANELLO A longtime resident of Port Chester passed away on November 22, 2011. She was 83 and was born December 3, 1927 in Mamaroneck, NY to the late Vito and Elizabeth Gironda Degiacomo She was raised and educated in Port Chester graduating from Port Chester High School in 1945. On August 27, 1950 she was married to Joseph Louis Ianello at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Port Chester. Mrs. Ianello was a bookkeeper for Don Travel, Ask Mr. Foster, Carlson Travel and Empress Travel. Mrs. Ianello was a devoted parishioner of the Our Lady of the Rosary Church and a member of the school's PTA. She was an avid card player and bowler and enjoyed traveling. Mrs. Ianello is survived by her beloved husband Joseph Ianello of Port Chester, Her cherished sons Joseph L. Ianello, Jr. M.D. and wife Ava of Suffield, CT., Stephen Ianello, Attorney of Manhattan, NY., and Robert S. Ianello, Head Coach for the University of Akron Football Team. and his wife Denise of Copley, OH., dear grandmother of Catherine Elizabeth, Thomas, Zachary, Ashley and Courtney Rita. Also survived by sisters Theresa Greco of Riverside, Ct., and Virginia Putrino of Greenwich, Ct. and numerous nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Degiacomo, Edna Cavalea, Florence Carpenter, Jean Varbero, and Margaret Francia and brothers William and Jack Degiacomo. Visitation will be 4-8PM on Sunday November 27, 2011 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10AM on Monday November 28, 2011 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church Don Bosco Pl. Port Chester, NY. Interment to follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery Rye Brook, NY., In lieu of flowers memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Ianello may be made to the Greenwich Adult Day Care 125 River Road Ext.
