Steven Allen

STEVEN RICHARD ALLEN age 57, passed away on November 9, 2011 in Cos Cob, Connecticut. Steve was born February 10, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri. Steve earned his Bachelor's degree in Music from Hamline University in Minnesota and a Masters of Music degree from the University of Michigan. Steve taught music for 33 years. He started his career in Minnesota where he directed bands and orchestras at Highland Park Senior High School, Central High School and Ramsey Junior High in St. Paul. For the past 11 years, he served as orchestra director at the Eastern Middle School in Greenwich, Connecticut. Steve's love for music and for teaching was shown through his student's devotion to him and to their music. Steve played Saxophone, Clarinet and Trumpet and also arranged music for band and orchestra. He was well loved by his students and will be greatly missed by all. Steve is survived by his two younger brothers, Craig (Deb) and Scott (Annette) Allen; Nieces and Nephews Samantha, Christopher, Ethan, Thomas, Carley and Heather Allen; Aunts Nancy (Joseph) Pauchnik and Lois Hodges and Cousins Mark (Donna) Hodges; David Hodges and Edith (David) Van Sandt. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 19 at 10 am at St. Stephen the First Martyr Orthodox Church, 3560 Shawnee Road, Lima, Ohio 45806. Steve's cousin Fr.
