JOHN BOYD MORTON of Greenwich died peacefully on February 9, 2012 with his family by his side. Born in Greenwich in 1934, Mr. Morton attended the Greenwich Country Day School, Deerfield Academy and Princeton University. After college, Mr. Morton served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy. He performed intelligence work stationed in Morocco and subsequently worked at the Pentagon in Washington DC. Following his work with the government, Mr. Morton joined First National City Bank in Manhattan, where he focused on international markets. He was multi-lingual and, during that time, he lived with his wife and daughter in New York, France, Germany, Holland and the U.K. He earned a masters degree from New York University while working and was a chartered financial analyst. In the late 1960's, Mr. Morton joined Fairfield Partners in Greenwich, one of the first Connecticut based hedge funds, where he served as a Partner for many years and then at Goodnow Gray and Associates. Mr. Morton was a licensed pilot and served on the Board of the Greenwich Library and as President of the Greenwich Skating Club. He was a member of the Round Hill Club, the Greenwich Field Club and the Sankaty Head Golf Club of Nantucket. He is survived by his wife Robin Morton, children Sarah Goldman, Greenwich, CT and Ian Morton, San Francisco, CA and four grandchildren. A private family burial service was held at Putnam Cemetery
