Sherry, Stephen J.
Stephen J. Sherry, a Greenwich resident his entire life, peacfully passed away with family by his side on February 18, 2014. Stephen was born on October 25, 1933 in Stamford to the late Stephen and Catherine (McAuliffe) Sherry. Stephen attended Greenwich High School, served in the U.S. Army and is a Korean War Vetran. He retired after 35 years as a member of L.I.U.N.A, his last position was a business manager of Local #56 in Greenwich. Stephen loved sports, swimming at the beach and walking in the park. He played on numerous basketball and baseball teams, participating in local leagues and tournaments. Stephen is survived by his wife Carolyn (Vidone). Daughters Stacy (Robert) Mortenson and Sandi (Bunny) Curley, both of Greenwich, and son Shannon (Kerri) of Norwalk. He is also survived by his step children Keith (Rebecca) Lewandoski of Vermont, Joanne Lewandoski (Jonathan) Schonberg of Westport and Lori Lewandoski (Stephen) Keen of Stamford. In addition, he is survived by six grandchildren, Kyle and Ryan Mortenson, Shane, Wade and Shelby Curley, and McKenna Sherry, and a great granddaughter Kiera Mortenson, and seven step grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Patricia) Sherry of Fairfield, and two nieces Jennifer Sherry and Alicia McLaughlin. Stephen was predeceased by his first wife Sandra (Martin), a son Stephen, and a granddaughter Kelsey Curley. A wake will be held from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Friday February 21, 2014 at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave, Greenwich, CT 06830. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Greenwich Avenue at 9:30 AM on Saturday February 22, 2014. Interment will be at St.Mary's Cemetery.
