Anthony J. 'Sonny' Carlo passed away on May 7th at Greenwich Hospital. Sonny, as he was known to his friends was born in Stamford on January 23, 1929 to the late Concetta and Peter Carlo. Sonny and his late brother Steven owned and operated Carlo Brothers clothing store in Greenwich. It was a business that grew from one their father, Peter, first opened on Greenwich Avenue in 1929, Monte Carlo Cleaners and Tailors. Sonny married his wife Joan on April 29, 1956. Together they had four children. Mary Ann Hohl (Fritz) of Greenwich, Linda Conti (Richard) of Stamford, Peter Carlo of Greenwich, and Sandra Spezzano (John) of Woodbury, CT. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephen and Ryan Hohl and Kathleen, Dennis and Joseph Spezzano. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Concetta and Peter Carlo, his brothers, Steven and Mel and his sister Rosemary 'Dolly' Stuttig. Sonny attended Greenwich High School, served in th U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War; he was a Sargent at the time of discharged. Friends and family may call on Friday, May 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 at Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue, Greenwich. The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 101h at St. Roch's Church at 10:00 with interment ta follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
