Tattar, Emma H.
Emma H. Tattar, 100, a life-long resident of the Byram section of Greenwich, passed away June 8, 2014 at the Seal Rock Nursing Home in Saco, Maine. Emma was born on the 8th of February, 1914 to Stephan and Suzanne (Borik) Hinlicky in Greenwich, Connecticut. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1932. Emma was a competitive swimmer in her youth, enjoyed cooking, knitting and sewing throughout her life, and referred to herself as a domestic engineer. She was a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Byram, and a founding member of the MaryMartha Guild group at the Church. Emma is survived by her son Terry A. Tattar, his wife Donna San Juan Tattar, her grandaughter Stacy J. Tattar, her grandson Matthew A. Tattar and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Emma was preceded in death by her husband John M. Tattar, and by her sister Suzanne (Hinlicky) Dower and her brothers Paul Hinlicky and Steven Hinlicky. Visitation will be held on Friday June 13, 2014 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Avenue in Greenwich, CT. Funeral services will be held at St. Pauls Lutheran Church , 286 Delavan Avenue, Greenwich, CT at 10:00 A.M.. Interment will be at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, NY following the service.
