JANETTE CORBETT CLUTTERBUCK, 90 (nee Diefendorf) passed away peacefully on January 14, 2010, in Sarratt, England. She was born on July 16, 1919 and resided in Putnam Park, Greenwich until her marriage to Jeremy Rupert Humphrey Clutterbuck in 1952, when she moved to England. Jan served in the American Red Cross in Europe during World War II. She met her future husband in Ireland, where he was serving with the Lovett Scouts in Donegal, Ireland. She was the daughter of the late Seir A. Diefendorf and Janette Corbett Diefendorf and step-daughter of the late Agnes Keeney Diefendorf. She was sister to the late Mary Jane Diefendorf Lee of Greenwich and half-sister to the late Edith Keeney Horn of Darien. Jan is survived by her children, Camilla of Chorleywood, UK and Benjamin of London, UK; and by two nieces, Susan Horn Corey, of Newtown, and Jean Horn Grimsley of Georgetown, Texas. In her long and active life, Jan was an artist. She was accepted and exhibited twice at the Royal Academy Summer Show and, during the 1970's, was Chair of the Women's International Art Club. One of the many exhibits she organized was an exchange show in 1976 between Rye, NY and Rye, East Sussex, UK. She produced her last painting on January 11, 2010.
