CATERINA CANALE, 93, of Cos Cob passed away on May 21, 2010. She was born in Greenwich to the late Giovanni and Nicolina (Borruto) Franco. At age 3, her family returned to Italy. At age 21, two weeks after her marriage to Salvatore Canale, she returned to the U.S. She worked at various jobs, including caring for a disabled man in her home for 22 years. Caterina enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with her family, and always welcomed everyone into her home. Her kindness and gentleness touched the lives of everyone she met. Even throughout her battle with Stage IV cancer in the last five years, she was filled with courage and never ceased to put others before herself. She loved well, and was well-loved.
