Christopher George Wright, 56, of Tampa, Fl. and formerly of Greenwich, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends on September 2, 2012, after a brief illness. Chris was born on February 22, 1956, the son of Ivy and George Wright. He grew up in Greenwich where he attended Greenwich High School before joining the U.S. Navy. He was assigned to a flight crew, which flew missions over enemy territory during the Vietnam War. Chris served 4 years stationed in Guam and Rota, Spain and received an honorable discharge in 1978. After his return to the U.S., Chris worked for Sikorsky Helicopters designing and installing electrical systems in Blackhawk helicopters. During his career, Chris worked as a consultant for several companies including Ballamois, Deibold, and most recently Northrup Grumman. Chris will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends. He leaves behind his mother Ivy Wright of Enfield, CT, his son Brian Wright and partner Serena Coughlin of Mashpee, MA, his former wife Dawn Wright of Falmouth, MA, his sisters Janet Wright and Pauline Caminiti and her husband Natale of Enfield, CT, his nieces Christin Merritt and Natalie Moschetti both of Enfield, Kevin Caminiti of Moseley, Va; Chris Caminiti of Temecula, CA, and James Caminiti of Tolland, CT. The family would like to thank Jack Hanes for all his help and the hospice staff that provided care for Chris. A Memorial service will be held at Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, MA, on October 13, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to: Melech Hospice House, 1125 West 52nd street, Tampa, FL. 33617.
