Martha Anne Richardson of Stamford, CT died unexpectedly at Stamford Hospital on December 15. Martha was born in Greenwich, CT in 1959, the daughter of Robert King Richardson and Anne Gaylord Richardson. She lived most of her life in Old Greenwich until she moved to Stamford earlier this year. Martha graduated from Greenwich High School in 1977 and from the University of Connecticut in 1981. She worked for many years as a cashier at Porricelli's Market in Old Greenwich and most recently for Kings Food Markets. Throughout her life, Martha loved children, cats, baking and science fiction, especially Dr. Who, and cherished her friends and family. Martha is survived by her sister Lila Richardson and her husband Allen Gilbert of Worcester, VT, her sister Sara Richardson and her husband Joseph Wong of Groton, MA, her brother Robert Richardson and his wife Mary Landergan of Melrose, MA and by her nephews and nieces, James Wong, Jeremy Wong, Sam Gilbert, Elisabeth Wong, Will Gilbert, Mary Frances Richardson and Betty Anne Richardson. A memorial service will be held at St. Saviour's Episcopal Church at 350 Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich on Saturday December 29 at 2 p.m. Contributions may be made in Martha's memory to Perrot Memorial Library, 90 Sound Beach Avenue, Old Greenwich, CT 06870 or to the local animal shelter, Greenwich Animal Control c/o Greenwich Police Department 11 Bruce Place Greenwich, CT 06830.
