Molinari , Sister Vernice
Sister Vernice Molinari (Sister Mary Angelus), a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph, West Hartford, CT, died at Lourdes Health Care Center in Wilton, CT on March 26, 2013. Born in Greenwich, CT on May 24, 1929 of the late Angelo Mario Molinari and Angeline Mary (Judice) Molinari, Sister Vernice entered the Sisters of St. Joseph on September 8, 1948 and celebrated her perpetual Profession of Vows on August 24, 1954. Sister was 83 years of age and in her 65th year of Religious Life.Sister Vernice earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Diocesan Teachers College, West Hartford, CT and a Masters of Education Degree as a Reading Consultant from Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT. Sister taught in the Archdiocese of Hartford and Bridgeport Diocese Elementary Schools for a number of years, followed by four years as a teacher in the Reading Lab at Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, CT. In 1977, Sister Vernice founded The Cedar Court School at the Sisters of St. Joseph Provincial House, West Hartford, CT, where she remained as principal until 1998. Sister Vernice dearly loved her students who came from various areas of Connecticut. She was greatly saddened when her illness prevented her from continuing her ministry of education. Sister Vernice humbly, patiently and lovingly lived her remaining years accepting God's plans for her. In addition to her dear friend, Sister Jean Sauntry, and her Sisters in Community, Sister Vernice is survived by her sister, Marguerite Roberts, her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and John Fomenko, her sister-in-law, Sylvia Molinari, her aunts, Fran Judice and Lorraine Judice, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins and friends. Sister Vernice was predeceased by two brothers, Theodore and Lou F. Molinari, her sister, Dominica (Donnie) Molinari, and her brother-in-law, Thomas Roberts. Relatives and friends may call at the Convent of Mary Immaculate in West Hartford, CT on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 3:00 to 6:45 p.m. A Mass of Resurrection will follow at 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 27 Park Road, West Hartford, CT 06119. Fisette-Batzner Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Avenue, Newington has care of the arrangements.
