Caroline Warren Obituary

Warren, Caroline Whiteside
Caroline Whiteside Warren, 82, died on September 23, 2014 at her home in Farmington, CT. A resident of Greenwich Connecticut from early childhood until her early 50s, Carol had many lifelong friends and raised a family of four children in Greenwich. After a divorce in 1982, she lived in Sarasota Florida, Southbury Connecticut, and Farmington Connecticut. She worked for many years in various careers as a teacher at Greenwich Country Day School and the Greenwich High School, as a paralegal, and as a nurse. Carol was a graduate and fondly remembered her education at Greenwich Country Day School, Miss Porter's School, Smith College, and Columbia University's Teacher's College. In the last few years her health declined in part due to multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer, and dementia. She is survived by her loving family; a daughter and son-in-law, Constance (Connie) and George Gurney, son Henry Warren, and two grandchildren, George Gurney Jr. and Alison Warren Gurney. Her daughters Alison Warren and Amy Warren, brother George Whiteside, and parents Amy and George Whiteside predecease her. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on November 22, 2014 11am at St. Barnabas Church in Greenwich Connecticut.

Dear Henry and Connie and those close to Carol - She too, welcomed me into her home and hence, gave Amy and I a chance to really get to know one another and remain friends for decades. Carol was funny, tolerant, and knew that she
was making that friendship between Amy and I a stronger one.
Blessings to her family and close friends. Sarah Storch

Dear Henry and Connie,
The time spent at the Warren house was my fondest memory of growing up in Greenwich. Your Mom was always so welcoming to me, tolerant of my antics, and I will always remember her laugh....and I made her laugh pretty hard on more than a few occasions. It was a deep and full laugh that seemed to start at the pit of her stomach and explode. She was a terrific person.

My thoughts and prayers are with your Mom, Alison, and Amy.

Sincerely,
Bill Weld

Dear Connie and Henry,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I have many fond memories of her. She was always interested in chatting when I was a teenager hanging out in your house.
Xo,
Lilla
