Anne Dorothy Alberts, 71, passed away Feb. 6, 2013 at the Casa De La Luz Hospice in Tucson, AZ after a long illness. She was born in Bloomington, IL in 1941 and grew up in El Paso and Aurora, IL. In 1961 she married James Robert Alberts and the couple resided in Rochelle, IL, and farmed. After her husband died in 1987, she moved to DeKalb, IL and worked as an administrative assistant for Northern Illinois University.
In 2002, she retired to Green Valley, AZ, where she enjoyed swimming, bridge club, mahjong, knitting and travel. She also volunteered at the Green Valley Library and the Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Stack. She is survived by sons Peter James (Diane) Alberts and Barry Lee Alberts; daughter Susan Anne (Ed) Alberts-Stahl; and granddaughter Elizabeth Anne Alberts; brothers David (Lillian) Stack, Mark Stack, and Brian (Carol) Stack; and sister Mary Stack.
Funeral services will begin at noon Saturday, March 2, at the Elim Reformed Church, 140 S. Church Road, Kings, IL 61068. She will be buried next to her husband at the White Rock Cemetery.
