Hi, my name is Bruce Kabat. I have come to my final resting place, Sept. 26, 2012.

Winona, Minn., was my birthplace Dec. 4, 1935. Leading the way to the Heavenly Gates were my parents, George and Glennis; brother Jack; and my Aunt Gladys and Uncle Clint.

Surviving me is my beloved wife of 28 years, Marilyn. Some may have heard me say, “I not only love my wife, but I’m also in love with her.”

I have a son, Brent (Brenda); daughter Renee (Chris) Farrington; half-sister Ann (Adam) Fulton; half-brother Alan Kabat; three stepsons, Zane (Kristi) Anderson, Todd (Lori) Anderson and Eric (Staci) Anderson; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

I have had a wonderful life, military (Lt. Colonel, U.S. Army), teaching and retirement careers.

My retirement years have taught me to give of yourself to others and rewards will be many. Family, church and friends are important. I hope I helped those in need and encouraged all to associate themselves with a church or organization so you never feel alone and not needed.

Many people have shaped my life along the way and I am eternally grateful for the love and support.

Now it is time for me to say “goodbye.” My struggle with cancer is finished and I have found peace with the Lord, my God, in his heavenly mansion.

A service of celebration will be at Desert Hills Lutheran Church, 2150 S. Camino del Sol, Green Valley, Ariz. 85622, at 1 p.m. Oct. 20.

Donations may be made to Desert Hills Lutheran Church organ fund or Friends in Deed.

Come, celebrate and share my life’s stories with family and friends.
