FLOYD R. McNICOL

Floyd R. McNicol, 97, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2012. A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at the Green Valley Cemetery.

Floyd was born in Hagerman, NM, and was a devoted Christ follower, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He graduated Kansas State University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and served in the Navy during WWII with a rank of Lt. Commander. During his service, he completed training and development with radar systems at Dartmouth, Harvard and MIT. After he was discharged Floyd worked as an engineer at WGN-TV and helped to launch the station. Later he became Manager of Studio Operations at RCA in Camden, NJ, the Manager of Systems Engineering at RCA in Camden and finally, Manager of Professional Electronic Systems at RCA in Burbank, Calif.

Floyd is survived by his son Steven and wife Mary, daughter Marilyn, 5 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Mildred, his wife of 72 years in 2009.
