FRANCES SHACKLETON BRISSMAN, 92, met her God Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. Longtime Green Valley resident from Indianapolis; native of St. Paul, Minn.; married Bernard, May 30, 1942 Cathedral of St. Paul. They had a love affair that lasted all their lives.

Adventures included ballroom dancing, ice skating, racing sailboats, chartering boats in Bahamas, piloting boat on Canal du Midi, scuba diving, and playing bridge. Frances graduated summa cum laude Indiana University; legal secretary in law offices of Warren Burger, later Chief Justice. She was a member of Indianapolis Athletic Club, Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Green Valley Country Club, Elks, Newcomers 7, and Animal League volunteer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 69 years, Bernard; five children Gerry (Cindy); Jon; Joan Perkins (George); Rollie; Bill (Randi); six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Celebration Mass 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, Our Lady of the Valley. Expressions of sympathy: The Animal League of Green Valley.
