Harry Fuhrman Jr. of Green Valley, Ariz., formerly of Medford, Ore., died peacefully in his sleep on April 8, 2013. Harry was born in Lodi, Calif., on April 22, 1943, the eldest son of Marianne and Harry Fuhrman Sr., and grew up in a large family of eight children in Stockton, CA.
Harry graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in sociology. He worked as a probation officer, parole officer, car salesman, and his favorite occupation: book store proprietor.
Harry was an avid cyclist, riding the Oregon and California coasts, including too many centuries (100-mile races) to remember. His tremendous love of literature included authoring eight of his own novels.
Harry loved Green Valley and the opportunity to cycle in a bike-friendly community. He and Mary were members of a local tennis group and enjoyed the friendly, relaxed neighborhood of Esperanza Estates. Survived by his loving wife Mary, his six children through birth and marriage, his grandchildren, and his two beloved dogs, Harry will be deeply missed.
