Kenny died unexpectedly at home at age 65. He was born in Berwyn, Ill., and grew up in Downers Grove, Ill. He enlisted in the Army after graduation and served 8 years in the military police in Vietnam, Panama, and Ft. Knox. He then became head of security at "Old Chicago" in Chicago, Ill. He moved to Green Valley 20 years ago to be near and help his parents. He held various jobs in Green Valley and then retired to care for his mother after his father's death. He met his wife, Sharon, in 1994 and they married in 1996. They enjoyed cruising to Alaska, Hawaii, and Mexico and just sharing their life together. There was not one day that passed that he failed to tell her he loved her, usually more than once.

He took great pride in helping start American Legion Post 131 and seeing it grow. He actively participated until his disability made it too difficult. He was a true Yankee fan along with his Chicago Bears and never missed a game if he could help it. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a joke to tell.

He was predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Trudy and sister, Carol Ann. Survived by his loving wife, Sharon; son by a previous marriage, Christopher Anderson, and granddaughter, Caitlyn. Stepchildren: Amber (Moises) Gonzalez, Erin (Leveritt) Willow, and Matthew Horton; 9 step-grandchildren (who he loved dearly), his Aunt Cille, and extended family and his life-long friend Mark (Chris) Graff. He will be sorely missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior at 1:30 p.m. Pastor John Steive presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior or American Legion Post 131.
