Helen Louise Price Fankhauser was born May 14, 1921 to Martha and Arthur Price at Emporia, KS, and died peacefully at La Posada on April 2, 2014 in Green Valley, AZ.

She lived at Olpe, KS during her youth and graduated from Emporia High School and Strickler's Business College in Topeka, KS. She was a secretary for the Santa Fe Railroad and Kansas Power and Light Company. She married Willis Sauder Fankhauser in 1947 and they were married for 63 years. They lived at Lyons, KS from 1947 to 1979, where they operated a pharmacy and retail business. They moved to Green Valley, AZ, where she worked for A. G. Edwards and was a member of Valley Presbyterian Church and P.E.O.

She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Conrad of Madison, WI and Martha Fankhauser of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren, Erin (Matt Splitek) Conrad and Abbi (Matt) Dunning of Madison, WI, Katie (Max) Munger of Amado, AZ, and Alex German of Tucson, AZ; and five great-grandchildren, Sofia and Ellie Conrad, Nora Dunning, and Pike and Janis Munger. Her husband, parents, and a brother, Arthur David Price, who died in World War II in Europe, preceded her in death.

At her request there will be no memorial service. Her ashes will be returned to the family burial plot at Emporia, KS this summer. Donations can be made to the Valley Presbyterian Church, "Pike Foundation" in memory of Helen Fankhauser, 2800 S. Camino del Sol, Green Valley, AZ 85622.
