Marti, a Green Valley resident, passed away on Nov. 7, 2012. She was born March 25, 1931, in Tulsa, Okla., daughter of Dr. Clarence C. Hoke and Jane Mitts Hoke.
Marti was graduated from Holland Hall, Tulsa, Okla, and attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., and Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, VA. (B.A. degree in sociology, 1953.)
Marti worked one year for the F.B.I. in Washington, D.C., and 14 years as executive secretary for the Council on International Relations, Santa Fe, N.M.
Marti was married in 1954 to Thad Harris. She is survived by Thad and their four children, sons Christopher, Gregory and Thomas, and daughter Camilla.
Marti and her family have lived in Montana, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and, for the past eight years, in Green Valley, AZ. She and her husband have been members of St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church in Green Valley.
Her hobbies included reading, stitchery (pulled thread and cross-stitch), travel, piano, classical music, native American flute, and cats.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church, or to The Animal League of Green Valley, 1600 W. Duval Mine Road.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Francis-in-the-Valley Episcopal Church.
