TERRENCE BELLVILLE Obituary

TERRENCE LE ROY BELLVILLE

3-29-44 to 12-22-15

Terry passed peacefully at home in Green Valley, Ariz. He was born on a bus while his family was moving from Texas to Iowa, setting him on the road to travel. He became a world traveler.

His husband of 10 years, David Carter, was bedside when Terry drew his last breath, along with their dog, Ellie.

Terry is additionally survived by his aunt, Dolores Peters of Blair, NB; daughter Stacie Marie Bellville of Lemon Grove, CA, and son Sean Carter of Applegate, OR.

Terry served his country in the Navy as a gunner in the Me Kong Delta, where he was exposed to Agent Orange. An avid reader, he always had a book nearby. He was a volunteer at the Green Valley Annex Book Store, which he enjoyed greatly. After college, Terry became a buyer of medical equipment, traveling to the Philippines. His favorite position was with Mercy Hospital as Delivery Room Triage in San Diego.

A proud gay man, he co-founded "Gay Fathers of San Diego" in the early '70s. Terry moved from his childhood home of San Diego to Tucson in 2002 where he met David.

Terry's infectious smile and delightful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was an awesome man!

Friends are invited to a celebration of Terry's life at the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ (17750 S. La Canada Drive in Sahuarita) on Jan. 23, 2016, at 3 pm. Memorial gifts may be made to the Sahuarita Food Bank at the Good Shepherd.

I am so sorry that Terry is no longer with us. I didn't know him all that long, but it was long enough to enjoy his sense of humor and love of life. He and David were so good together and it was always a pleasure to be in their company and see the genuine affection between them. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

We are so lucky to have had a chance to get acquainted with you, Terry. We miss you even though we knew you for only a short while. Your intelligence and humor are what kept you going when you needed to. David, we think of you and Terry often. We are glad that he could be at home with you and Ellie. And, Ellie is going to need you as much as you need her. There really are no words ......... Loren & Marie
