SALLY BURBANK Obituary
Sally R. Burbank, 81, a longtime resident of Green Valley, AZ, passed from this life peacefully, March 24, 2014, after a brief illness. She was born April 1, 1932 in Binghamton, NY. She left a legacy of friends in Longmeadow, New Canaan, CT, and Denver, CO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Herbert Reisner. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Dave Burbank; her sons and their wives Rick & Diana of Dallas, Russ & Louise of Seattle, John & Laurie of Missouri, and Jeff & Cindy of Boston; her grandchildren Luke and his wife Jenni, Matt, Kelly Lauren, Jenn, Trevor, David, Eric, Cody, Ryan and Jonathon; three great-grandchildren, Nate, Chase and Emma; her sisters Betty Barton of Florida and Linda Bockover of North Carolina; and many dear friends.
Sally attended Bates College and graduated from Chamberlain School of Retailing in Boston. Sally was very active in the community. She was member and held board positions in the Junior League, GVR board of directors, and chair of La Posada Board. She was an active tennis and bridge player. She was a member of Desert Hills Lutheran Church. She volunteered at Posada Java and never met a stranger. She had a strong desire for encouraging students to continue their education through the Scholarship Fund at La Posada Foundation. She graciously shared her talents with so many and touched many lives with all of her volunteering through the years.
Please join us in loving memory of Sally Burbank, as the family hosts a Celebration of Life with Pastor Martin Overson officiating on Saturday, April 12, at 1 p.m. at the Labyrinth at La Posada.A reception will follow at the Recreation Center. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be sent in her name to Scholarship Fund at La Posada Foundation at 350 E Morningside Road, Green Valley, AZ 85614.
Sally was quick-witted, competitive and had a passion for life. She loved and was loved by her family and friends and will be missed!
Arrangements entrusted to Desert Sunset Funeral Home, Tucson, AZ.
