ROBERT TANGEN Obituary

ROBERT INNES TANGEN

Robert Innes Tangen died peacefully Dec. 28, 2013 in Tucson, Ariz., at the University of Arizona Medical Center after a year-long battle with health issues. He was born May 10, 1935 in Taylors Falls, MN to Lucius and Florence Tangen. Bob enlisted in the Army in 1954 and was stationed in Germany for 2 years during the Korean War. He was a member of the WI American Legion Post 0143. Bob married Marilyn Charlotte Tangen in 1957. They were best friends and fishing partners for 56 years. Bob and Marilyn lived in St. Croix Falls for over 25 years until Bob's retirement as supervisor from Midwestern Gas Transmission, a division of Tenneco, where he worked for over 30 years. During retirement, they enjoyed spending their time split between Mexico, Alaska, and the St. Croix River Valley. For the past 10 years they have also enjoyed the sunny, warm days at their homes in Green Valley, Arizona and Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.

Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by family and friends. His passions included hunting, fishing, and traveling. Besides his wife Marilyn, Bob is survived by his three daughters, Jane (Matt) Larson of Willow, AK; Barb Tangen of Willmar, MN; and Beth (Don) Arvold of Colfax, WI. He also leaves one granddaughter, Rebecca; three grandsons, Jake, Nick and Zack; and two great-grandchildren, Renee and Liam.

There will be a funeral service at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church back home in Taylors Falls, MN. Arrangements are still being made. www.grandstrandfh.com will have all the information.
