NICKELL, J. D. "Jimmie" age 81 of Fairfield, Ohio died Saturday October 19, 2013 at Tri County Extended Care Center. He was born in Daysboro, Kentucky on June 5, 1932 the son of Hershal and Rose Lee (Reed) Nickell. On October 27, 1956 in Liberty, Indiana he married Priscilla Bley. He served in the U.S. Air Force, during the Korean War. Mr. Nickell had worked as a machine operator for the Ford Motor Company, Sharonville Plant, for thirty years, retiring in 1989. Jimmie had acted as a Lieutenant for the Fairfield Fire Department Company Number 2, for over fifteen years. He was a member of the Lindenwald Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Priscilla, two children, Gary (Judith) Nickell and Debra (Bob) Sloan, of all of Fairfield Township; four grandchildren, Jennifer Nickell, Stephen Sloan, Lauren Panourgias, and Daniel Sloan; a brother, Don Nickell. Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday in the Lindenwald Baptist Church, 460 Symmes Rd. Fairfield, Ohio 45014 with Pastor Randy Moore and Associate Pastor Daniel Sloan officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00am-12noon Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. If desired, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.
