Priscilla was born in Harvey, Illinois, an only child of and Charles and Elizabeth Joseph, who died in 1961 and 1991 respectively. She graduated Thornton Township High School in Harvey in 1943 and then she graduated from Wesley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and worked as a staff nurse in various hospitals. She was in the Cadet Nurse Corps in World War 2. She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Dr. Gilbert Peter Wagoner. After living in Middletown for about 25 years and raising her three children, she gave up everything and went with her husband, Gilbert to Ecuador. Gilbert had mentioned the mission field when he proposed to her in 1947, and she said, "Of course!" Little did she know that 30 years later, he would take her up on that promise. She took refresher courses in nursing at Miami University and then in Costa Rica learned Spanish. As medical missionaries with World Missionary Fellowship from 1978-1988, both she and Gilbert worked in Vozandes Hospital in Quito, Ecuador. Later she worked in the English Department of the mission radio station, HCJB, which broadcasts the gospel worldwide via shortwave. During her life, Priscilla was always ready to volunteer and help others. She was a Girl Scout leader for her daughter, she worked for the Red Cross, and also for Hospice. She was also always active in church, singing in the Choir and doing whatever tasks that were needed. She was very hard working, always supporting Gilbert in everything he did. She passed away 5 months and 1 day after him. She will be sorely missed by her family, who love her dearly. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday at the Mt. Pleasant Chapel with Dr. Eric Newell and Pastor Wes Duff officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time Saturday at the chapel. Burial will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
