She was born in Hamilton on June 25, 1947 to Chester and Freda (Feeback) Roach. She was a member of the Hamilton Dream Center. She is survived by her husband, Donald Sackenheim, her mother, her children, Brenda (Efrain Gonzalez) Hawkey, Glenda (Mike) Hicks, Mikey (Darla Snowden) Sackenheim, Lisa (Jerry) Gray, her grandchildren, Alisha, Brandon, Kristen, Kayla, Michael, Chelsea, Kylie, Matthew, Michael, Ashley, Christopher, Josh, Brandy, Kristina, Candice, Katlynn, JW, 25 great grandchildren (1 on the way), 1 great-great grandchild, her siblings, Joyce Roach and James (Vicky Taylor) Roach. She was preceded in death by her father, her son, Stephen Sackenheim, her grandchildren, Donald, Matthew, Michael Jr., a great grandson, Baby Jeff, and her siblings, Rick Roach, Steven Roach, Chester Roach Jr., and Michelle Roach. Funeral service will be held at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Friday, December 19, 2014 at 11 AM with Wendell Coning officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or Hospice of Hamilton. News Death Notice SCARBOROUGH, Jean Age 85, of Hamilton, died Friday, December 12, 2014 in Heritagespring of West Chester. She was born in Somerville, Ohio on March 19, 1929 the daughter of Merle D. and Rosa B. (Statzer) Hoel. She was a 1947 graduate of Hamilton High School. Jean married Paul G. Scarborough on August 25, 1948 in Hamilton and he preceded her in death in 2007. She was self-employed, owning a bookkeeping service from 1957 - 1991. She was active in Redeemer United Church of Christ, where she had been the bookkeeper for many years. She was an avid hiker and gardener. She is survived by her children, Craig L. and Tara L. Scarborough, their spouses Kerri Jo (Wolf) Scarborough and Michael B. Marksberry, and four grandchildren, Cory Allen and Brook Katelyn Hemmelgarn, and Bryce Leigh and Brodie Leigh Scarborough. A visitation/remembrance will be held on December 17, 2014 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. Hamilton, OH. SCHWARZ, Dan Charles* - Fairfield  
News Death Notice SCHWARZ, Dan Charles Age 77 of Hamilton passed December 7, 2014 at University Hospital of Cincinnati. He was born September 3, 1937 in Hamilton, the son of Charles and Emma (Haller) Schwarz. On May 9, 1959 Dan married Carolyn Westrick at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Hamilton. He was the owner and operator of Schwarz Jewelers in Hamilton and he and his family enjoyed many years of serving his customers. In addition, Mr. Schwarz was active for many years in Kiwanis, Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, DARE, St. Veronica's school, and St. Stephen's Parish Council. He was a life-long member of the Hamilton Boat Club and enjoyed building boats and boating - especially with his grandkids. Dan leaves to cherish his memory, children, Daniel (Diana), Cynthia Gressel, Stephen (Penny) and Michael (Jenny); and grandchildren, Sadie, Amanda, Carolyn, Jacob, Luke, Michael, Abigail, Samuel, Savanah, and Maria. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Carolyn. The family will receive friends 2 p.m. - 4 p.m., Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Avance Funeral Home & Crematory, 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield. News Death Notice SEXTON, Richard C. Age 86, of Liberty Twp. Passed away on December 10, 2014. He was born August 26, 1928 in Frankfort, KY to Edward McKinley and Hazel (nee Jameson) Sexton. Richard is the beloved husband of Mary (nee Horn) for 62 years; devoted father of Beth (Irwin) Thompson and Rick Sexton; loving grandfather of Amy (Eric) Clavier, Samantha Sexton, and Cole Sexton; great grandfather of Madisyn, Haden, Greysen, Avilyn, Weston, and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Joe (Cindy) Allgeyer; sisters-in-law, Dolores Meyer and Margaret Kresser; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Richard served his country in the Air Force; and was a Engineering Technical Writer for General Electric in the Marine Industrial Engines Division until his retirement in 1990; He was also a member of the Elks and enjoyed golf. Visitation will be December 20, 2014 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Gardens Chapel, 2145 Compton Rd., Mt. Healthy, OH 45231. News Death Notice SHAY, Joel Dean Age 51 of Monroe, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at the West Chester Hospital. Joel was born in Middletown, June 8, 1963 to Branch Shay and Lois (Rankin) Shay. He was very active in the MS Society and loved fishing and hunting. He is survived by his daughter; Sarah Shay of Newport, Kentucky; his mother, Lois Shay of Monroe; a sister, Jody Beth Shay of Fairmont, West Virginia; dear friend, Becky Babington of Centerville, Ohio and close friend, Russell Irwin of Middletown. Joel was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services will be 12:00 PM on Tuesday at the Breitenbach McCoy Leffler Funeral Home with Reverend Joel Harbarger officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Tuesday. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery in Monroe. She was born in Phil, Kentucky on December 3, 1943 to Charles and Lorene (Luttrell) Daniel. On June 4, 1984, she married Gene Shepherd. She is survived by her children Charles D. Robinson (Donnitta), Cherly D. Seagraves (Troy), Wanda J. Tyree (Tommy) and Donald Shepherd; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; one brother John A. Slusher (Bea) and sisters Judy Eliton, Beverly Ball, Linda Patterson, Sharon (John) Ewen, and Mildred Steven; special friends Jeff, Steve, Gary, Rosco, Otis and Connie. She was preceded in death by her parents, loving father John Slusher, son James Gabbard, brother Herbert Daniel and the love of her life Donald Gene Shepherd of 30 years. Funeral service will be held for both Donna and Gene at Brown-Dawson-Flick Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Avenue, on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 12 Noon with Pastor Mark Hampton officiating. SIZEMORE, Edna (Begly)* - Lebanon  
News Death Notice SIZEMORE (nee Begly), Edna Age 91 of South Lebanon passed peacefully Thursday, December 4, 2014 at the Arbors of Milford. Born November 3, 1923 in Beattyville, Kentucky, Edna was the daughter of Sam and Manda (McIntosh) Begly and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Edna had retired from the Kings School District where she worked in food service for 25 years. Edna was a former member of the Kings Point Church of God and had lived in the South Lebanon area since 1951. Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Elmer Sizemore, daughter Betty Sue Sizemore and 13 siblings; Edna leaves behind her daughter Barbara Lou (Douglas) Peters of South Lebanon and grandson Doug E. Peters also of South Lebanon and many other family members and friends. Friends may call on the family Monday, December 8, 2014 from 12:30pm until 1:30pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith worked at Fisher Body, Division of General Motors and also at General Electric. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
