News Death Notice PADGETT, Terry M. 67, of Eaton, died Saturday, May 21, 2016, at LifeCare Hospitals of Dayton. He was born in Greenfield, Indiana on October 13, 1948 to parents James R. and Betty Jean (Martin) Padgett. Terry worked in the steel coil coating industry for 40 years, most recently as a process engineer at Metal Coaters, Middletown. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a flight engineer. Mr. Padgett is survived by his wife, Linda (Morningstar) Padgett; daughter, Cynthia (Keith) Closs; sons, Shawn Padgett, Matthew Padgett & Ryan Padgett; step-son Eugene (Jessica) Ice; brothers, James Padgett, David (Marsha) Padgett & Doug Padgett; sisters, Mary Ann (Dennis) Harrold & Peggy (Robert) Cedoz; and grandchildren, Katilyn, Lyndon, Madison, Mason, Gage, Mercedes, Ryan & Elayna. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kylene Elizabeth Padgett; and brother, Daniel Padgett. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. News Death Notice PETERS, Kellous Passed away May 22, 2016 at the age of 87. He was born March 7, 1929 in Oldenburg Indiana to the late James and Emma Peters. Kellous came to Hamilton in 1948 and worked in a supervisory role at Champion Paper for 42 years retiring in 1992. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Irene (McWhorter) Peters; daughter Linda (Gary) Giffen, grandchildren Jeffrey (Ashley) Giffen and Jennifer (Kevin) Farris; great- grandchildren Avery Giffen, Aiden Giffen, Archer Giffen, Cooper Farris and Ella Farris. He was preceded in death by his brother Earl Peters; sisters Elsie Banks, Edith Banks and Rhoda Hudson. The family would like to thank the staffs of Berkley Square and Hospice of Cincinnati for their care and support. A Celebration of his life will be held at the Ivey Funeral Home, 2565 Princeton Rd. Hamilton 45011 on Friday May 27, 2016 from 10am to 12pm. Funeral services will be 12pm Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Wilson of the North Fairfield Baptist Church officiating. News Death Notice PETERS Loraine M. Age 97, of Hamilton, passed away on Sunday May 22, 2016 at 12:50 p.m. at Tri-County Extended Care Center. She was born on June 28, 1918 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of the late George and Carrie (Hess) Manifold. She was educated in the Hamilton Schools, graduating from Hamilton High School in 1938. On February 22, 1941, she married Robert L. "Tip" Peters and he preceded her on death on February 20, 1994. She was a member of St. Ann Church. Lorraine is survived by her devoted sons, Mike Peters and Ron (Mary) Peters; four grandchildren, Jason (Erin) Peters, Justin (Mandy) Peters, Jerrod Peters and Jessica Peters (Richie Baldwin; two great-grandchildren Isabella and Xander; also many other relatives and friends. Prayers will be Thursday May 26, 2016 at 10:15 a.m. at Charles C. Young Funeral Home, 4032 Hamilton Cleves Rd., Ross, Ohio followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ann Church, 3028 Pleasant Ave., Hamilton, with Fr. Larry Tharp, officiating. News Death Notice POWELL, Floyd Everett "Jack" August 3, 1943 - May 21, 2016 Floyd Everett Powell "Jack", loving husband to Judy C. (Bailey) Powell took his tackle box and pole and went to the sweetest fishing spot we can hope for on Saturday, May 21st, 2016. Born August 3rd, 1943, the son of Omer and Edna Powell, Floyd graduated from Urbana High School in 1961 and proudly served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Floyd was a remarkable father to Michelle (Davis) Kennedy of Tipp City, OH; Jay Davis of Hamilton, OH; Carrie (Davis) Sparks (Dan) of Grove City, OH and Everett "Rhett" Powell of Hamilton, OH; Angela (Powell) Williams of Sun Valley, AZ. Trouble-instigating Papaw to Megan, Caitie and Nicolas Kennedy, Whitney and Bailey Davis, Ethan Schlueter (fiance Jaclyn), Abbie (Schlueter) Burkes (Bruce), Michael (Kristen) Williams, Erika Williams, Matthew (Amy) Williams. Partner-in-crime Great-Papaw to Brayden, Miles, Isabel, Cadence, Rebekka, Addison, Jonathan and Elise. He is survived by one brother, 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters. To respect his wishes, the family will be holding a small memorial service in the future. In lieu of flowers, Floyd asked that donations be made to Edgewood Outreach Center, c/o Home Ave. Church of God; PO Box 189, Trenton, OH 45067. This is a neighbor helping neighbor, food program that he worked and believed in. His friends and neighbors knew his heart was in helping those who couldn't help themselves and sharing a laugh or stirring a little mischief. You left us a legacy of family, strength, loyalty, love and mischief - you will always be our John Wayne. Husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, friend, our loss is but for today, we will see you again and cast a line alongside you.
