News Death Notice SCOTT, Denise Lynn "DeeDee" age 60 of Hamilton, Ohio passed away on Saturday November 15, 2014 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born on July 20, 1954 in Hamilton, Ohio the daughter of Louis and Linda Garrett. She was educated in the Hamilton Schools graduating from Roosevelt High School. On September 3, 1980 in Hamilton, Ohio she married Daniel R. Scott. She is survived by her husband Daniel; her daughter Deanna Lynn Scott; her devoted mother Linda Garrett; her special grandchildren Christopher Daniel Scott, Logan Scott and Mercedes Scott; sisters Jeanine Robin Lainhart, Carla Jane Young and Kathy Lee Tappe; brother Michael (Patricia) Garrett; dear friends Billy and Cayla Scott; also many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Louis Garrett, her biological mother Carol P. (Lewis) Garrett, sister Leslie Ann Stewart and brother Thomas Keith Sembley. SEXTON, Liam Robert* - Hamilton  
News Death Notice SEXTON, Liam Robert Age 17 months of Hamilton, lost his battle with HLHS on Friday November 14, 2014. He passed away at Cincinnati Children's Hospital surrounded by his loving family and close friends. He was born June 3, 2013. Liam was the son of Justin and Katie (Dougherty) Sexton and little brother of Bradey Sexton. Many memories will be cherished by his parents, big brother, Grandparents Patrick and Charlotte Dougherty, Lee and Annette Sexton,and Uncles Zachary Sexton and Ryan Sexton. He also leaves behind a large extended family, friends and and an army of loving supporters. Although only with us for 17 months, Liam touched the hearts of thousands with his story of strength and his fighting spirit. Visitation will be held at New Life Vineyard Church 2470 Princeton Road, Hamilton, OH 45011 on Tuesday evening, November 18, 2014 from 5p.m. - 8p.m. A private service and burial will be held at Rose Hill Burial Park on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Love for Liam, which will benefit future Cincinnati Children's CICU families. All contributions can be sent to 1175 Dale Road, Hamilton, OH 45013. The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Cardiac surgeons, doctors, heart failure / transplant team, nurse practitioners, fellows, nurses, aides, holistic health, pastoral care, child life, social workers and staff. They would like to also thank the many people that reached out to them during this difficult time providing meals, prayers, positive thoughts, messages, cards, planned and attended fundraisers. SHEETS, Margaret C. (Hazelwood)* - Lebanon  
News Death Notice SHEETS, Margaret C. (nee Hazelwood) Age 93 of Lebanon passed peacefully Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Drake Care Center in Cincinnati surrounded by her loving family. Born August 13, 1921 in Trenton, Ohio, Margaret was the daughter of Charles Emmons and Emma May (Burnell) Hazelwood and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Margaret graduated from high school in Carmel, Indiana and was a lifelong resident of Lebanon, Ohio. Margaret was married to Harold Augustus Sheet in 1941 and later in 1944, together they founded the Fella Bella Shop in Lebanon, Ohio. Preceded in death by her parents and husband Harold Augustus Sheets, Margaret leaves behind her loving children James Earl Sheets, Victor O'Dell Sheets and Lori O. Cook; grandchildren Sara M. Sheets, Alexander James Sheets, Shannon Bombadil Sheets, Adam Steven Cook and Amy Catherine Cook; great-grandchildren Robin Elise Sinclair, Henry Augustus Sheets Sinclair, Thomas James Sheets and Robert Augustus Sheets. A brief visitation will be held Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 1:30pm until 2:00pm at the Stine Kilburn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2:00pm with a reception to follow. The family appreciates memorial donations that are directed to the Warren County Historical Society. SHUMATE, Arthur P.* - Middletown  
News Death Notice SHUMATE, Arthur P. 90, of Monroe, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village. He was born in Middletown, Ohio on October 22, 1924 to parents Edward and Ethel (Long) Shumate. Arthur was customer service supervisor in the metal products division at AK Steel for 30 years. He was a graduate of the University of Dayton where he later taught communication classes. Arthur served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He later received the Chevalier Legion of Honor Medal from the French Republic in gratitude for his heroism during the D-Day invasion of Normandy. Mr. Shumate is survived by his brothers, William (Virginia) Shumate, Richard Shumate; sisters, Winifred (James) McPherson, Dorothy (Donald) Cole and Mary (Jack) Villapondo. Art was a beloved uncle to three generations of nieces and nephews. Although he had no children of his own, he loved them all as would a father. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edward Shumate Jr., Jack Shumate, and James Shumate and sister, Jean Shumate. At Art's request, there will be no services or visitation.
