She was the wife of Carlos Collado; daughter of Rob and Amy Blust; sister to Joey and Evan and granddaughter of Larry and Margaret Young, Steve and Beverly Houck and Bill and Kim Blust. She will be greatly missed by her uncle and aunt, Doug and Allison Apple; cousins Zach and Rachel and many friends. Kristina was diagnosed with AML in March 2012. Through her illness, subsequent bone marrow transplant and numerous setbacks and obstacles, she continued to grace us all with her positive attitude, never ending hope and her beautiful smile. Her thoughtfulness and her spirit were contagious to everyone who came in contact with her. To say she was an inspiration would be an understatement. She had earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Miami University which she would have received on May 16, 2015. She was a member of the Tri County Assembly of God and will be sincerely missed by her church family. Special thanks to Dr. James Essell, of Jewish Hospital, and the entire team of the Blood Cancer Treatment Center for the outstanding care, love and support. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Thanks, too, to her unrelated bone marrow donor, who through her donation, gave Kristina three more years of life. Kristina would encourage you to join Be The Match and we are asking for memorial contributions may be made to Be The Match Foundation, 3001 Broadway St. N.E., Suite 601, Minneapolis, MN 55413 in Kristina's honor.
