News Death Notice

PRAETE, Alexander Joseph "Alex" 87, of Middletown, died Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in New Rochelle, New York on September 21, 1926 to parents Joseph and Elivira Chico (DiCola) Praete. Alex worked as Director of Operations of Franchise Units for Cassano Enterprises, retiring in 1988 after 20 years with the company. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church. Mr. Praete is survived by his wife, Helen (Linkins) Praete; son, Greg (JoAnn) Praete; sister, Ann Pappas; grandchildren, Jodi (Jay) Brown & Joel Praete; and great grandchildren, Jayce Brown & J.J. Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael Praete; and sisters, Tess Young, Vivian Lightner & Ginny Timm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at Wilson- Schramm - Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
