News Death Notice

SOUTHARD, Anna Barbara age 98, of Germantown, OH, passed away, Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Garden Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 4, 1915, to the late Charles W. and Glenna (Boore) Rickard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Glenn D. Southard (1994); a son, Phillip P. Southard (1991); and 2 brothers, William "Bill" L. Rickard and Gaylord Rickard. Barbara was a life member of Emmanuel's Lutheran Church, a member of the former Charter Oak Grange, Farmersville Chapter Order of Eastern Star, The Twentieth Century Club, Germantown Regal Red Hatters, Historical Society of Germantown, and Twin Valley Garden Club; and volunteered at the local Valley View Thrift Store. She is survived by 2 sons, and daughters-in-law, Kent & Pam Southard and Charles "Chuck" & Diana Southard all of Germantown; 5 grandchildren, Bryan (Dawn) Southard, Nicolle (Mark) Zinck, Adam (Katie) Southard, Emily Southard, and Stacy Southard; 4 great-grandchildren, Alec & Eli Zinck and Jack & Nick Southard; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call 11 a.m. - 12 Noon, Saturday, February 22, 2014, at the Dalton Funeral Home, Corner of State Route 4 & Weaver Rd., Germantown, where the Funeral Service will follow at 12 Noon, with Pastor Paul W. Heine officiating. Burial will be at Germantown Union Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel's Lutheran Church.
