News Death Notice

SALYERS, Curtis L. age 66, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Atrium Medical Center where he had been a patient for 10 days. He was born December 4, 1946 in Blue Diamond, Kentucky, and lived in Middletown most of his life. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged after two years of service in Vietnam. During his life he had been employed as an insurance agent for Western and Southern Insurance Company, was a manager at Myers Poured Walls, owned and operated Salyers and Salyers Construction, and then was a sales person for DALACO - Construction Supply Company. Curtis was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Preceding him in death were his parents, Jerry and Clarice (Barker) Salyers; and one brother, J. R. Salyers. He is survived by one son, William Curtis Salyers; five step-children, Shannon Rupp, Sherry Dunn, Rick Day, Matt Day and Dan Day; six grandchildren; one brother, Michael Salyers, wife Terry; and one sister, Bernice Huff, husband David. Visitation will be Monday, February 25, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Home Avenue First Church Of God, 426 Home Ave., Trenton, Ohio, followed by services at the church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Todd Wallen officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio with Military Services by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
