News Death Notice

PUCKETT, Earl age 88, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Retirement Village where he had resided for three months. He was born October 12, 1924 in Bethel, Kentucky and lived in Middletown most of his life. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during W.W. II receiving an honorable discharge. Earl was employed in the Transportation Department as a Railroad Engineer at Armco Steel retiring in 1986 after 42 years of service and was a member of Holy Family Parish. Preceding him in death were his parents, James and Susan (Barnes) Puckett; and one son, Eric Puckett in 2003. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Marie (Smith) Puckett; one son, Steve Puckett; one granddaughter, Karen Stretch, husband Kevin; two great grandsons, Cameron and Axel; one sister, Patty Goode, husband Ron; one brother, Bobby Dale Puckett, wife Joanne; daughter-in-law, Joanne Puckett; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, December 7, 2012 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Civille officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio, with military services by Middletown Combined Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Parish, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, Ohio 45042. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
