News Death Notice

HOPKINS, Gary E. 61, of Gas City, IN died at residence Saturday November 2, 2013. He was born December 4, 1951 in Hamilton, Ohio to his departed father Ralph D. Hopkins and Loving Mother Ava J. Hopkins of Fairfield, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 32 years Phyllis A. (Joseph) Hopkins; Sister, Gail (Keith Bowermeister) Hopkins, Fairfield, Ohio; 3 Children: Barbara Hopkins, and Gary Hopkins II both of Hamilton, Ohio and Jennifer (Brock) Hoskins, Fairmount, IN; 3 Grandchildren: Tia Hubbard & Braylen Dawson, Hamilton, OH and Hayden Hoskins, Fairmount, IN. Gary was a graduate of Taft High school in Hamilton, OH. He retired in 2006 from General Motors in Marion, Indiana after 30 years of service as a machine repairman. He is a current member of the Masonic Lodge #711 of Van Buren, IN. Gary enjoyed many things; horses, camping, and fishing but loved riding his Harley Davidson in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina with his wife. Arrangements are being handled by the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN. Visitation will be at the Fairmount Chapel from 3:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013. Funeral service will be at the Fairmount Chapel at 7:00 pm on Thursday, November 7, 2013, with Pastor Jeff Luedtke officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 8, 2013, at Hickory Flats Cemetery in Trenton, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the COPD Foundation in care of the funeral home.
